Water Pressure Issues
There are many reasons for water pressure issues in a home. A few of which include, faulty screens on the end of water faucets, including dishwashers and washing machines, as well as loose pressure reducing valves. The latter may need to be adjusted slightly to correct the problem. The screen could also be partially blocked on the valve, causing the water pressure issue. Water pressure issues may also involve losing pressure when a toilet is flushed. However, this is not as much of a serious problem as it is an annoyance. If you live in a two family house and are constantly competing with the neighbors for water pressure, you may want to have a plumber install a pressure balance valve.
The water heater dip tube can also cause lack of water pressure. In the case of water pressure issues and the dip tube, it will need to be replaced. This is easy enough to do, but you need to know the right dip tube to get and what it should be made out of. Some older water heaters used a plastic like material that were eventually replaced with copper dip tubes. The plastic ones seemed to disintegrate at a high rate of speed. If you are unsure, you should call a plumber who can help you fix and replace the tube.
If you have water pressure issues and are unable to find the problem, you might need to call a professional plumber. It may be something simple that you are missing. It is better to have a local plumber look at it rather than try to ignore it. Especially since the problem may be something serious. The best course of action is to have a professional plumber diagnose the problem and then repair it. By hiring an experienced plumber, you can rest assured that the problem will be fixed the first time around.
