Shower Heads

As you know, there are many different types of shower heads available.
They pulsate, massage, spray, and trickle. If you are installing a new shower head, you may need some help.
Not every showerhead will fit on your current fixtures. Some come with their own hardware that needs to be hooked up to the plumbing system and some just need you to change the head.
Even if the showerhead just needs to be changed with your existing one, you can still create problems if you do not do it carefully and according to the instructions. It is always a good idea to consult a local plumber.
- Many homeowners buy new shower heads not realizing that all plumbing needs are not the same for every showerhead.
- If you have older plumbing, you will need to have a plumber update your plumbing to support the new showerhead. Most of the showerheads today have different sizes and shapes; therefore, you might need to have some piping work done. If you decide on a dual showerhead, you are going to require additional plumbing work to support both heads.
- High-pressure shower heads will also need a plumber to inspect your current plumbing system to see if it will support such a system.
Do-it-yourself plumbing is not always a wise idea.
- If your plumbing is old or even new, you could accidentally do something incorrectly and cause more damage to the plumbing system.
Installing your own shower heads may be an example of those situations.
- When a new shower is installed, the plumbing is upgraded and tested before you use it. If you replace the showerhead and miss a step or two, you could have leaks or not enough water pressure for the new shower head to work properly
- Always be safe and call a professional plumber for the job.
